... rodded. This looks beautiful if you like that sort of thing. Interesting to see where this ends up in light of the work carried out and move from originality.

In any event, a cracking looking car.

Over a 1/3 of a million so far.
Lovely car but does not sound that special to me, but looks just grear.
Refreshing to read it was a garage find and not a Barn Find 14 years ago.

Re: 356 Carrera GS Coupe lightly...
It's a non matching Cockapoo of a car, the current bid of $356k seems serendipitous, is there a bid history ?
Also, the baggy seat lets the car down...
... a quick rub over with the Anusol cream would have tightened things up there.
No doubt it is a beauty but doesn't strike me as an investment car... so I'm ooot.

Might not be the most original car and therefore not really sure where it stands value wise but stil looks pretty dam cool to me (saggy seat aside) I’d happily own it.

I didn't notice the saggy seat!
There's a bid history in the comments. Highlighted in yellow you have to scroll through though as the bids are not separated from the comments. It'll get interesting at 19.25 this evening.
10,000th lot on Bringatrailer so they've found something special.

Re: 356 Carrera GS Coupe lightly...
Well...I know nothing about 356's (but I do like them and would like to try one out properly).
It looks very nicely done but for one thing.....it appears to be giving birth to another car/large object out of its bottom......oh I see it's a ridiculously oversized, pig ugly exhaust silencer. With the outlets at different angles and lengths based on photo I've seen
Seriously though - that can't be standard and, even if they have left off the rear valence for weight saving, it looks like a complete oversight given the care and attention given to everything else?

$401,500 I don't get it, that's insane!

It's a genuine Carrera GS - albeit with a later (but still 4-cam) engine & some other mods - bearing in mind some of the crazy prices achieved by far more 'common' early Porsches, I'm not at all surprised by the figures.

What’s surprising about price
The engine is 200k usd plus
If car was perfect it would be about 600k plus GBP

Re: 356 Carrera GS Coupe lightly...
Agreed . I know of 2 UK owned 356 (A) Carreras sold in the last 12 months , I understand that each achieved in region of 700k GBP and the cars went overseas . They were 'correct' cars , so did not have to go to auction / ebay / bring-a-trailer.john ruston wrote:What’s surprising about price

Apart from you John , I don't think the people who own or buy these cars hang out on DDK Market Place Discussion !

The price is no surprise to me either, lovely car.
You 911 guys wouldn't be shocked at the high price of 2.7RS compared to a normal one would you!
