vintage, used Pirelli Cinturato 185/70 15" of any value?

Post by RetroGuy »

I just bought a set of Fuchs wheels and they came with original Pirelli CN36 installed, DOT no. is 517 on three of them, 507 on one of them, so I assume 50th and 51st week of 1977? As I will put on new tires I wondered whether these might be interesting for someone to put them on for display/museum purposes only? Thread is well worn (on the rears more than on the fronts), however no bald spots.

many thanks for your input!

Tyres may work, but I suspect they are so dry that the sidewalls will come apart very quickly. From memory, the Germans require tyres to be no more than either 5 or 7 years old. When I brought my 911 over from the states in 1999, my tyres (CN36s) were about 25 years old, and I got rid of them before they came apart.

Hi Stefan

We have new ones available here https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classi ... e/911.html

By the look of your date code it looks like the 50th & 51st week of 1987. Unless it has an arrow or triangle in the date code panel which will mean it is 1997. Either way, as it said on my school report "could do better"
