My 2.8 twin-plug car has arrived...

Post by Lightweight_911 »

I'm posting a few preliminary pictures of my '70T with 2.8 twin-plug engine - the o/s headlamp was damaged during shipping but they're going to be changed to RHD chrome-rimmed H4's soon.

Currently on 7&8 x 15" BBS wheels whilst I decide how to refinish a set of 7&8" Fuchs...

Here's a shot of the engine after removal of the air conditioning system - needs (& will get) detailing :

& curent (temporary) interior - yet to remove the air con lower dash vents, swap steering wheel & replace door panels/carpet, etc. I've installed a Scheel bucket seat for the driver - don't know what I'm going to eventually use yet (that's a pair of newly-upholstered Recaro sport seats in perforated black leather resting in the passenger space):

Saxon

I'm no expert but by running twin plugs you can raise the comp ratio without detonation.

Very nice car and no doubt very lively. So, what kind of fuel do you have to use?

Just reading an article in Classic Car June 1989 about Bob Watson building a RSR race car. The car had twin plug head fitted but it was configured to run with only single plugs and 10.3 compression, partly for economy and partly because even then a twin-plug distributor costed £2000  . He also talks about the twin plug configuration given an extra 10bhp.
