Hi Andy, andytat wrote:My car was first registered in Singapore in September 1975.
I'm trying to find out who the first owner was as DVLA seem
to think it was previously registered in the UK. I spoke to the
DVLA help line, who were very helpful, and they are looking
through their records to see if they can find the original UK
registration number. If they can and it's not currently
assigned to another vehicle I should be able to have it back.

Very interesting reading about your RHD 914 you purchased in Singapore.
All the Crayford RHD Conversions I know about were done in late 1970 and 1971 on fixed passenger seat examples.
Porsche Cars Great Britain where the concessionaires for most of the British Commonwealth sales and the 914s would go to Isleworth in London before being exported to their final destination.
When they arrived they were issued with Temporary Import Q registrations issued by the Greater London Council and would mainly start with QP or QQ followed with up to four numbers.
Your 914 would have had one of these registrations on its stay here in the UK before being exported to Australia. As it was a temporary registration it won’t be reissued.
I have a list of the Porsche Cars Great Britain imported 914s but sadly it is incomplete and only covers the 1970 to 1973 model years; 1974 and 1975 model years are missing so I don’t have any info I can pass on to you sadly.
But saying that I do know the VIN number of the last 914 brought in by PCGB and it is a 1975 model year 2.0 made at the beginning of September 74. It just might be your 914… 4752901041
