Re: engine yoke
The link to the engine yoke Mike is referring to is here

However bear in mind this is really only a beetle engine adapter and requires an additional adapter between the yoke and the engine to use it as per a P201.
Some people have used it as is but you can generally only clamp the engine on the least useful half of the engine, as it fouls on the oil cooler side.
Ideally you clamp on the oil cooler side of the engine as you reassemble the halves with the oil pump half on the stand at the bottom.
You could try Chris Flavell (Fetuhoe) at Fennlane as he had started to produce an adapter to go with the yoke, based on a design I started.
Chris is a top bloke but also very busy, the last I heard he had got the adapters made but they needed final machining.
If you need to visualise this, see page 5 of my Manhattan Project thread.
Regards
Andrew

Re: engine yoke
I bought one of these from the States. The seller was very helpful with importing and Item is very well made and an identical copy of the factory item I have been told..

Re: engine yoke
I have modified the yoke from the forum thread to clear the oil cooler, but it requires a bit of cutting off a bit of the ring and welding a bit back on to support the bit you've just trimmed. If you are up for that it works as intended

Re: engine yoke
Thanks for the replies boys. Sorry for my delay but I have been away. Richard, the one you got from the states, was it worth it after paying the import tax etc. ?? I would like a quality one that is man enough for the 911 engine.

Re: engine yoke
Hi Ian
In my experience the problem with shipping is how the item is described and 'valued' by the seller. Also all of this needs to be very accurately documented on the correct forms and displayed with the shipped parcel so it clears customs without any hold ups. If below a certain value the import tax can be kept to a absolute minimum. JC were very helpful with all of this.
Jcautoparts were very helpful with all of this. Including the shipping it cost me about £255. It is a very solid and well made copy of the Porsche one.
Hope this helps
