Correct Early Sigla Windscreen
Hi All,
Does anyone know if any of the UK specialists are stocking a correct Sigla marked windscreen for 65-67 911's? Sierra Madre has them and KK usually have them (but are currently out of stock). I could do with one fairly sharpish.
Thanks
David

Design911 have some Sigla screens shown on their website. May be worth calling them.

Re: Correct Early Sigla Windscreen
I've just had a new clear screen for mine from National Windscreens (via insurance) and it's branded as Sigla

Re: Correct Early Sigla Windscreen
I think that the main problem with Pilkington screens is that although it can be marked Sigla as the same Japanese Company owns both brands they have to use a BS mark and brand it as made in the UK.
I don't believe Plikington Classic can avoid this problem and they won't sell unmarked screens
The only real way is to buy unmarked screens - also difficult - and etch them with a 'security' kit.
Sierra Madre charge an extra $220 for the marking so I guess they have a source of unmarked screens.

Re: Correct Early Sigla Windscreen
I wouldn't advocate buying a non marked screen, the inter layer must be HPR to satisfy the law, it must be etched with the manufacturers name by law. There are people out there making screens with inferior quality glass, I.e. Not float glass which is not optically correct and wouldn't withstand /pass the ball drop test. Pilkington classic glass is made at Queenborough and made using the original tooling and meets all the relevant standards.

Re: Correct Early Sigla Windscreen
So how do you get them marked 'Made in Germany'?
Re: Correct Early Sigla Windscreen
I think LGK 6D will want it marked 'Made in Western Germany'
Hope it all works out David, what happened to your original screen?
