Nice ali bonnets from Mittelmotor

Post by amallagh »

Just saw these ali bonnets at Mittlemotor. Realistic price as well. Nothing like a piece of sculpted aluminium to 'lighten' up your day :)

I'm pretty sure they are the Dansk produced pieces that we supply

How many do you want :)

The Mittlemotor advert doesn't mention a steel frame. If it is described as an aluminium bonnet then I'd be a bit miffed if it turned up as a steel bonnet with an aluminium skin ! :angryfire:

I had a 997 GT3 and it had an ali bonnet with a steel frame as standard, maybe it's the done thing ?

Not saying I wouldn't want one, just that an ali bonnet is an ali bonnet, and a steel bonnet with an ali skin is just that. i.e. not an Ali bonnet.

Seems like it's 100 per cent aluminium to me...

From the website:

100% made of aircraft aluminium and with a stiffness, which is in no way inferior to a steel hood, this is a passport-accurate, authentic 964 RS replica.

The trunk hood offered by us is suitable for all 911s of the model years '74 - '93. With a rework of the spray nozzle cutouts it is also to be used with the 993 ('94 - '97).

Compared to the original steel hood (approx. 14 kg) and a polyester hood (approx. 4 - 6 kg) our aluminum hood with only 5.1 kg is a real lightweight.
