Re: Found a couple of old F1 pics...
Nice of you all to ask if there's any more hidden away, so now you've only got yourselves to blame!
Sadly that was it for F1 but realise now what the box in the loft was, it was sport from my early days, no wonder I'd forgotten about it...... As a young snapper in
Fleet Street you were expected to cover everything, it was only later as you got more established you could specialise and I went down a different route.
No more car related but an evocative look at the late 70's with some interesting names from those days, hope you find them interesting.
Starting with Kenny Dalglish playing at Wembley
George Best, his last days playing with Fulham
A very young looking Seve Balasteros
Tony Jacklin, bit of a damaged print that one
Lestor Piggot on The Minstrel winning the 2000 Guineas at Ascot, more luck than judgment that shot I think!
Bjorn Borg winning one of his Wimbledon titles
Couple from Wembley when the Scots beat England
British Aerobatic team champion Philip Meeson and his Marlboro Pitt's specials
Some random polo player
British boxer John Conteh
and lastly probably the most famous sportsman of all, I didn't get to photograph him in the ring but this picture with his daughter will do.
Quite sharp some of them as well, which considering I spent most of the late 70's pi55ed in the pubs of Fleet Street is not too bad!

Bl**dy brilliant Mike.
I was never a F1 fan but appreciate the pics. However, the other sporting pics are fantastic!!
Evocative in black and white and sad because some of those 'greats' are no longer with us.
Regards
Mike

Re: Found a couple of old F1 pics...
your photography is incredible - even when you post random iPhone snaps the composition is a mile away from anything I've captured, but these black and white photos are simply stunning.. I don't really know what it is, but there's something powerful about a b&w photo, almost a warmth to them
if you find any more of anything else post them up!
PS - how badly did the prop chew the seat of your trousers while taking the aeroplane photo?!
