Re: Lotus 7
What a cracker, absolute school-boy dream car alongside the 917 and 908-3
Looks like it needs nothing?

Re: Lotus 7
Thank you for your kind comments. Yes, its a lovely little thing really. About 100bhp, 500kg and 41/2 inch tyres. Very basic but huge amounts of fun at much lower speeds.
It is bloomin cold at this time of year though! No idea how to put the roof up and no intention of trying:)
cheers

We need more details/pictures ...
How long have you owned it ?
1964 with ~100bhp - is that a 1500 Cosworth engine ?

Hi Andy
Very happy to provide more info!
It is indeed a 1500 cosworth engine. Very original car really: original Serck radiator and fuel tank, AC instruments, etc. Luckily I also have all the logs books, etc going back to when it was new so I can track through the whole history and can show its the original engine, carbs, etc that it came with. I think its all original panels too. Lots of 7's seem to have been mucked about with one way or another - I guess thats just the nature of the car with man raced, hillclimbed, etc.
Checked out 100% with the Historic Lotus Register, in fact John Watson , drove me up to Darlington to look at it and pick it up!
Its really good fun even just to go on short trips and always seems to gather a crowd when parked up - everyone seems to like having pics taken with it!
I'll sort some more pics out a bit later.
cheers

Ha, cheers F. I'd completely forgotten that you drove it back from Bicester! That was a nice warm day as I recall....I think Nyle almost froze on his short blast to Goodwood!yoda wrote:Needs heating and a crash helmet ....... bloody freezing and feels like you are in a cold air tumble dryer over 70mph!911hillclimber wrote:Looks like it needs nothing?
