is it mid engined?
is it turbocharged?
does it have a stupid gearbox?
is it a one-up from the gt3rs (ie mega-road-car) or is it 100% race car?
Unlike the Ford GT and Ferrari 488, however, the 911 RSR is not turbocharged. Instead it’s powered by new four-litre water-cooled flat-six. The old RSR continued to use the illustrious Mezger engine, but with the 911 Cup and R powered by a more modern unit, Porsche took the decision to have a uniformed engine structure. The new engine also gets the direct injection and with LM-GTE rules designed to allow both turbocharged and atmospheric engines air to the engine is restricted to allow a level playing field. Depending on the size of the restrictor used the RSR’s engine can produce up to 503bhp.

Enough rivet-nippled wastrels in unfathomably trendy trainers you lot, RSR is an important 911, nat asp and mid engined and all that. It seems surprisingly under the radar..maybe because it has no investment potential.
Looks a bit like the good ole GT1 here:

Is it still a 911 if the engine is in the middle? Isn't it a Cayman RSR?

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
Pretty amazing looking aero on that car! I think as someone else stated, moving the engine has as big of an effect here as it does with the weight distribution, so not sure it will effect the road cars..
I'm also really pleased they've managed to do it without making the whole thing look like a panamera! would be interesting to see inside it to understand how the air is fed to the engine, where it sits relative to the driver, etc., etc.. very interesting development in my mind, and really REALLY good to see its an N/A - I think manufacturers are missing a trick turning everything turbo, it just doesn't work well in sports cars in my opinion

Re: Your Porsche pic of the day......
Its pretty cool whatever, I like the way they have laid in to the 911 to make it competitive at Le Mans, and ended up with a bit of a mutant..just like the 935 all over again. And those running boards are bonkers!
