1978 Targa SC roof

Post by dean1057 »

Might seem a silly a question but my car come with the factory solid hard top.
Bought a second hand targa folding roof.
When operating the hooks with the supplied key, it only operates one of the hooks on each side.
Is this normal?

Thanks

The targa hood latches are completely independent from each other. ideally you have 2 keys.
I'd be interested to see photos if the hard top. How did this fit?

Hi Tim,
There are two hooks on each catch with two keys. When I operate either one only one hook moves on each unit. If expect both hooks to move on each unit.

ok, i understand, turn the handle one way and they both open. Other way and one closes. think of the other as a safety catch like you have on the bonnet.

Got you now Tim, I see the other is spring loaded.
Thought both catches were duff at first.
Thanks for putting my mind at rest.
Doesn't help when cars not here and just have the roof to play with.
