German engineering !
Well I couldn't help myself, I took my new battery over to my storage place today just out of curiosity to see what works what what does not after nearly 3 decades in storage, and to my surprise I have everything apart from indicators and the main lights, sidelights work fine, now tommrow I have someone who knows more about these things then I do to give me the low down on what we need to get done to get it back on the road, but I Must say im chuffed with that, even the radio worked fine !

That is a good start. Lets hope the rest of the revival goes well.

Haven't serviced mine in 19 years and has just completed a 400 odd mile round trip to Goodwood & back without missing a beat, thumbs up for German engineering

Re: German engineering !
When I took my gearbox up to Mike Bainbridge for overhaul, he insisted we open it up together so I could see what needed fixing.
Inside we found the gear oil was like tar. Mike was pretty certain it was the same oil it left factory with. Then the bearing cages fell apart in his hands. All this, and it still shifted (just).
