Re: Any Really Nice G50 3.2s For Sale at the Moment?
Nick Moss has put me in touch with a very nice 3.2 G50 Cab. Haven't seen it yet, but it ticks ALL the boxes - and sensibly priced compared with an equivalent Coupe.
Of course, first preference would be a narrow bodied Coupe, so just need to be sure that I'd be happy with a Cab (although I did have a couple of Cabs in the '90s - a 964 and a 993 and recall them fondly).
Any 3.2 G50 Cab owners care to add their thoughts on the pros and cons?

True, it hasn't....but I don't think I'm going to get one for here - much as I would love to....It's the 120% tax on the open-market value and the Certificate of Entitlement to drive at several 10s of Ks of dollars that make it a 'no go' over here for me...plus the humidity would be a car killer.jtparr wrote:...but as you are now enjoying the pleasures of Asia's best guided democracy you will not be allowed a LHD car there....unless it carries diplomatic plates...unless the rules have changed since last I heard...c'mon..move to the dark side and get a RH.....murph2309 wrote:Yes, but just don't get on with that offset pedal box.....

Re: Any Really Nice G50 3.2s For Sale at the Moment?
My experience of G50 3.2s was pretty brief - a few test drives. I much preferred the 915, as the G50 felt like driving a modern car (reminded me of a Golf). No bad thing, but didn't feel like a 911. Having had a 901 'box 2.2 before that it just didn't feel right. If you're used to 964s and 993s though you'll be fine.
Re: Any Really Nice G50 3.2s For Sale at the Moment?
Making some progress, and definitely decided on a Coupe.
However, if anyone is interested in a really nice, immaculate, low mls, impeccable history, late G50 Cab, then the car Nick spotted seems like bit of a gem - and sensibly priced in today's climate.
UPDATE: Hooray, now found one![cheers ](./images/smilies/icon_cheers.gif)

No, not the Hairpin car. Similar but lower mls and wasn't advertised in the mainstream. Picking it up in a couple of weeks, so will provide more info then.
I did find a small nucleus of potentially suitable G50s (late, low mls, perfect condition/history - PS, JZM, Avantgarde), but with top end price tags - although a bit of digging indicated some reasonable price movements.
These 'time warp' cars will always look disproportionately expensive, but it's what some people want.

Just an update; the one I found is a Guards Red/Black Leather '89 Coupe, with 24k mls, FPSH, in pristine, original condition. Not the Hairpin car; mine has sports seats and is fitted with a new non-spoilered engine lid (original to be stored). I had a thorough PPI inspection and it was virtually perfect. It's just had a couple of minor jobs carried out and a nice detailing - so ready to go.
Or rather it would be, but it's only got 3 wheels!!!!
One rear Fuchs had a blemish on the rim and was sent to Canford Classics for remedial attention. So, Alan, if you have any influence, it would be great for it to be returned by this Tues, when I'm hoping to collect it
Hoping to drive it fairly frequently, c.2-3,000mls pa.
Pics to follow (when it's got 4 wheels).
