Nice bike.. I'm not a rider on the road ( off ) but I can appreciate the era.. is this for the road or for staring at in the lounge on a display stand :-) I must take a photo of my mates BMW of this era ( older I think ) it's still sat down at the unit not moved in .... 20 years he's even living out of the UK in Japan now..

To ride when it's warm. Living room not big enough for inside display!

Loom:
That looks SO familiar. My previous 'mechanic' cut mine in half and then re-joined it all together using a Hi-Fi multi connector.

Not sure to get another (rare) or solder and splice and repair and etc.
You can get loom repair kits now with correct Honda connectors.
pita.

That engine looks to have seen some 'mechanicing' to me.

Is the inside of the tank ok? they sure can rust.

Endless fun!

Will this thread become DDK's first Project Bike thread? :)

My engine:
Now you know why I bought a sand blaster...

Yes, the tank's good, but I'll look into some kind of treatment to make sure.
The engine is actually cosmetically very good – the usual Allen-headed bolts, which everyone used to get rid of the original cross-heads, and there's not a broken fin or scuffed casing in sight. In fact, I don't think the bike's ever been 'down the road', as the cases are good, the silencers are unmarked and the rear sets are undamaged. Like all these things, it's a curate's egg...

Sounds good, some have a harder time ahead:

The cross-head screws are JIT head. Later Honda twins had allen head so much easier.

Excellent! The guy who's just bought my 1939 Monet & Goyon has a collection of Italian bikes, including a one-off Benelli 500 with a Sei six-cylinder 750cc engine. Cool bikes!

Whimp. It's got CB450 twin-leading shoe front brake and a CB450 rear. No messing here!

I have CBR1000RR monoblocks and still worry about stopping distances! Lol...

Classic bikes for me are something from the 90's... something like a 900SS. These 70's machines look frightening.

Yes.. I am a whimp.
