Re: Mongrel Street Racer
Car looks great Darren. Shame about the worn out steering wheel. Easily fixed I suppose.

Gorgeous.
Well done Darren. A just reward for your efforts and attention to detail.
When do you start your next project
?
If your running-in trips bring you toward Surrey, give me a shout - the kettle's on.
Cheers, Richard.

Re: Mongrel Street Racer
I guess the only question left will be "which one ?" Good luck deciding !!

....this car is loud, very loud, race car loud, it's f*@king NOISY!
I had the idea of running megaphones for a short while before fitting a muffler.....we've all been around paddocks and seen car on the race track so thought it was a bit of fun....and it is, but in the real world it's a tad embarrassing and certainly raises eyebrows when crawling down the village high street on tick-over! I was also quite concerned when passing a horse rider this morning, the car is going to be driven a lot so the sooner I get it silenced a bit all the better......it's does sound insane though when screaming past 6,000 revs!

Great looking thing Darren...but race cars are actually quite quiet , warned you about those megaphones, I too suffered the worry especially with unpredictable 1 ton animals with nervous disposition. Build a system with a piggy back silencer like my old one it ran at 95 db at 5000 rpm, if you did it in Ti it would weigh nothing and you could "uncork" to run the phones as you desire, or Mike B made a brilliant system for the Martini car ?
Did I say how great it looks ....

I would think a true classic 2 in/ 3 out is ideal.
Capped middle pair for road use, uncapped all 3 pipes for fun, but fun you can live with.
