Visited Gary at GDC Automotive today......

Darren, hope you don't mind me asking, is there any reason you fitted kill switch this way?
Just in the process of fitting one in my car, but will be fitting it as in second photo. If there's no benefits either way,I suppose it's just down to personal choice.

This thread should never be used as a reference source....we're just making it up as we go along!

I have seen this fitted a number of different ways although would say your example is more 'correct'.

Object of Desire!.......

I collected my new racing fuel injection pump today.....









.....absolutely no reason to take multiple photos, or indeed post them, but I guess it's a measure of my excitement (please excuse my indulgence! )....

....and I do love the detail.....









.....although it's not the visuals that are important.....all the internal governor parts are to RSR specification, the 3D cam is V94 with machined flyweights and springs....



....Gus Pfister at Pacific Fuel Injection has been building these pumps for decades using original factory Bosch equipment......







....this racing injection pump is calibrated for my 2.5 ST specification engine or what Gus describes as 2.5 RSR spec....



....even up to just a few weeks ago I never imagined I'd be this lucky and cannot believe my engine now has a 'proper heart'........still amazed at how easy this all worked out...

....I'd received strong recommendations regarding Gus's skills and he has a reputation second to none.......a pleasure to deal with and incredible value, in my mind there is no doubt......Gus is indeed....

was it Gus' workshop that was featured in Wheeler Dealers when they 'restored' a BMW 2002TII, or was that someone else in CA?

I remember he had a cutaway Mech Injection unit, connected to a lathe or motor so that he could demonstrate the operation.

....I've never watched Wheeler Dealers Andrew so wouldn't actually know.....however PFI is a Mecca for BMW owners along with Mercedes and Porsche crowds and Gus does have a cutaway MFI unit to demonstrate so sounds like it probably was.

Some lovely shots there, you certainly have a good looking car, some of the details you have included will definitely make this car stand out in a crowd, and I'm certain the most important piece will not disappoint.... any more shots of Nick's work and a completed engine, what was the spec again...!

I can imagine that a project like this takes over your life to an extent, with the time spent on researching the finer details of what you are hoping to achieve to the actual restoration, so not surprised at times that the frustration of delays and probably rising costs will start to out way the enjoyment of restoring the car.

Looks like it wont be long before your caning this car round the cotswolds on early sunday morning blasts; stick in there as your going to have one fantastic car in the near future.
