A mate of mine in Wales who's into VWs has a beach buggy that he was going to fit a 1.7 914 engine in, but he's busy with water-cooled stuff - sticking hot 16v engines in Mk1 Golfs.. He was just on the phone to me asking if they're worth anything, as he's thinking of selling the engine off separately.
Any thoughts on whether it's worth anything? It's been greased up and turned over periodically in storage. it's a complete long block and heads, with tinwork and injectors, but not the rest of the injection system. It was a known good runner, but it's stored a few years.
Not sure if this is allowed, but I'd appreciate any constructive thoughts on it.
If anyone wants to swap a stash of hot VW golf bits for it, then that could work too, but I don't really know which particular stuff he'd be after.

I sold mine a few years back for £250 I think. It was a runner and still going in a members car I believe
