...Gary Cook worked for Autofarm for 17 years, he left a few years ago and since has done work for a number of private clients although mostly for early Porsche specialists such as Historika, Redtek etc on a freelance basis. A top guy although very much under the radar.

Nick Fulljames, who rates Gary as the most knowledgeable person he knows, introduced us a while back......at first Gary was a little reluctant to take on my work in case it upset his trade clients, that changed once I discussed details and he got excited about the project.....

....things have moved on quite a bit since then with Gary deciding to offer his services to retail customers full time. He recently moved into a unit situated between Brackley and Milton Keynes and trades as GDC Automotive.

You all know I'm big on promoting the people who help me but that's only if I feel these people can honestly help others like me........if I have nothing positive to say then I don't.

In Gary's case I couldn't recommend him highly enough!.....top, top bloke :)

Looking good Dazzler! Missed you in Wales this weekend - sunny, dry and very little traffic. Probably be best trip I've done this car. Found some new roads as well!

Looking forward to seeing the car finished.
The force is strong in this one ......

.....at the moment yours is still a roll in my garage. I'll see if I can catch up with Nigel in the next couple of weeks and take templates......then up to you if you'd like me to send paper templates or get busy with the scissors!

That is a great tip and near me too - I've got a couple of things I'd like to get sorted out - will give him a call as he's so near...

I' be been meaning to say that I am excited to follow this project of yours Darren. It is what I dreamed of doing when I had my 2.2s but never had the finances to realize it.
So with great admiration and a little green eyed enviousness I will enjoy your attention to details.
Keep it up and the good work, haha.

Thanks Karl,

I really appreciate the comments.....no doubt I'm in a very fortunate position to be building my dream and lucky I'm able to swap paintwork for some of the work being carried out as well as being able absorb much of the work internally which all helps.....hopefully I'll be able to hustle my way through the project before the cash runs out!

Cheers,

Not everyday you're able to get up close and personal with a 2.7RS.....

Image

....and not everyday the owner allows you unrestricted access to take patterns from all the genuine lightweight trim inside!....

Templates now sorted to make the Mongrel's interior :)

We're lucky to have some pretty cool people in our early Porsche community......albeit some are way cooler than others! 8)

Cheers Nigel

Thanks for bigging it up Darren, but it was no effort on my part!
Glad you got what you need and as for cool... I've never been cool but the car sure is.
Now pull your finger out, Jason's waiting and there may be consequences.

That's not true Nigel, any man who lives in a real life James Bond lair is cool in my book!

Loving this car and thread Darren - keep the updates coming, the more little details the better!

So much love between you two, it's lovely to see.
And both sporting PCGB stickers on your windscreens, what a pair
