....and back on track...

...managed to source the correct type condensers....it seems that Fiat Panda's, Ferrari 246GT's and 911 ST's do have some things in common!

A few heat cycles and this should look like it was plucked from the Porsche Race Department....

Thanks Paul.....if I hadn't changed them it would have kept me awake a night!

I cant wait till I get time to read back through your thread to the part that explains why you have 2 orange shells in your garage!! Ha Ha
Darren, seriously...... have you sold up your business for £M's and now have unlimited time/cash to restore this car. crikey there are so many parts you are juggling, it astounds me!!! Seriously well done and I am new to DDK but am sure like everyone else reading this, have so much admiration for your attention to detail... staggering

.....only the Mongrel belongs to me Adam, the other I painted for a friend and have been looking after it for him since....it's a much nicer than mine!

And thanks for your kind words, they really are appreciated......quite a commitment this restoration lark isn't it!....

.....but no, I haven't sold up and time is scarce........I'm lucky in a lot of respects but like most restorers, I'm skint, full of guilt......and blindly obsessed! :?

Be careful!

Walking past an ex-BT van the other day as the guys were stripping out the redundent racking in the back I noticed some fine ribbed rubber matting.....

...it looked a little tired but a quick clean...

Image

....and a blast.....

Image

....and it's actually cleaned up quite well......the slightly worn look will add character to the Mongrel's interior 8) .....

Image

...who would have thought that both BT and Porsche would have used the exact same supplier for their rubbing matting!

That's the floor carpet sorted then.....now all I need to do is visit a nice gentlement in Bath and take a few measurements! :)

Mitch

Thanks for the offer Jamie although I'm pretty much sorted.....I also need to take a few carpet dimensions and Nigel has kindly agreed to let me a take a few measurements from his RS.....

....taking templates from a genuine RS that probably has more original lightweight parts than some original RS lightweights!....

....fantasy stuff! 8)
