Tidy '93 R129 SL500 currently up for sale at Grundy Mack. One owner 13k miles (!). Was tempted to go have a look but sensibly talked myself out of it...... for nowhot66 wrote:Can't remember last time I saw an SL600 ..... Maybe Yorkshire isn't their natural home

I have a R129 500SL with 52K miles. Grey/silver metalic with black interior. Might have done a deal on a 964 so will probably move it on.

Good call - Ennismore Gardens Mews. Number 23 is the house that featured in the Golf ad in the 1980s
Re: '89 300E
Someone on the Golf ad campaign did their job well! Ad pre-dates me as I'm a more recent Zimbabwean import but youtube has it.

Re: '89 300E
I think it was David Bailey on the ad. Just back from a road trip in the 230TE - 1500 miles up to the Highlands and back. Car ran faultlessly throughout. Another idea for a coffee-table book - petrol stations in lovely/unlikely locations? Needed this one as the fuel light had been on for a while. My pictures don't remotely do it justice - it's at Strontian on the A861, west of the Corran ferry
