Slightly off topic but did you get the car running properly? I recall on IB you had a few running issues?

Chrome looks great :)

It's much better now - esp when the engine is warm. It still hunts when cold though. I've got plans for the engine once the bodywork is done...but I'll need to save my pennies.

Good for you! :wink:

2007 was a great year anyway and there's no getting away from the fact that IB's are the ugly sister!

Look forward to seeing progress.

3.2 Engine bay seems to be full of stuff. Decided to remove:

* Rear wiper
* Blower
* Replace dizzy and coil with a coil pack

To remove the blower you have to re-wire the relay. Before:

After:

Just noticed I photographed the relay sitting on a review of the Parquet Courts album from last year. Highly recommended if you've not heard it, esp. Stoned and Starving.

GRP Decklid from Fenn Lane:

Used a borrowed template for the letters that was a bit uneven so had to do a bit of filing and filling later to get them straight.

The 911 badge is one I got from Sam...who's just told me not to backdate it :)

Got a pair of chrome mirrors. I guess they wouldn't be right on a long-hood car, but ideal for a backdate and even provide a bit of visibility on both sides. Holes in door are from all the flag mirror electric gubbins. They'll be welded up in the bodyshop.

Oh yeah, me and the kids took the car to Goodwood last year and parked with the grown ups

Hi Al,

I think you probably saw most of this when you came to pick up the wings. I think the photos that Nick takes art Early911 will be the most interesting !

Those mirrors were fitted to some early European cars. I forget which and where but they are 'right'.

When I took the RHS front wing off, I found a worn oil pipe

...and a pair of hair legs that must be older than the car itself.

Hose was a right bugger to get off. In the end, I had to dremel cut through the nut to get it off.

Cutting the IB mounts off at the front. I decided to leave the rear part of the mount as it holds the wing bracket, and hoped Early911 can sort out the corrosion when it goes in.

Dizzy removed, hot air duct in place, and bracket in place for new coil pack:
