.
Driverless cars ?
This appeared in many US newspapers in 1956 ...
'One day your car may speed along an electric super-highway, its speed and steering automatically controlled by electronic devices embedded in the road. Highways will be made safe – by electricity! No traffic jams ... no collisions ... no driver fatigue'.

The family in that car look like most of the tourists coming down to Cornwall: sitting in the middle lane and looking anywhere but at the road ahead!
Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Having just done the 600 mile round trip for a week in Bude - god this pi$$e$ me off, especially on the 4 lane sections of the M25 when they sit in lane 3. Although not as much as the numpty in the RR Sport doing 80 towing a caravan - he could barely keep it on the road, let alone in one lane. Gotta love the SW, beautiful part of the world. There. Re: my non-Porsche picture of the day
Don't talk to me about holiday traffic! Drove from Norwich to Leeds today for a meeting and getting up early and driving from the god forsaken Travelodge I've ended up in near Bradford for a meeting in Weston Super Mare tomorrow - great planning!
