Jeremy sent me a pm today asking about meeting in the Sainsbury car park only 5 minutes from Goodwood. ( I put a map on where it is on this thread a few weeks ago)

I have said yes to that, arriving at the car park around 7.45 to 7.55. then leaving for the circuit. Maybe as Steve has said it might help the Marshals if we do all arrive in a line with more chance of staying that way when we park.

So, I presume the car park will be open I don't remember it being gated. But should it be there is a row of shops like Currys etc almost opposite Sainsbury's as you drive in on that road. Cars are visible from the road so a second choice if the Sainsbury one is closed.
I have looked at the weather forecast possible 60% chance of rain. Seeing so many will be going I guess I will change my normal idea on rain and 356 and still come.

It should be a nice collection if every one comes. Lets hope for a nice day.

I'm not sure I will be there. Firstly Mrs B agreed and then permission was withdrawn!

Hi Roy , we all know the consequences of wet 356s but sometimes you have to do it .

Its an early start and Sainsburys is on the other side from where I will be arriving....it will be very hard to drive past the circuit entrance.......

Yes, you would be best to drive straight in as you come from that direction. Take a chance the Marshalls might put you in the right area. I think it will be a busy day there.

And a very nice RHD swb 911s which I think was a very early one. Lightly race prepared. Just stunning.

A few more.

Early morning en route.

Image

Putting faces to DDK names. Great to meet Roy Mawbey, Jonno, Dcraigmyle and oldtimer, and Paul and Aircool too.

Image

Goodwood free-entry breakfast meets seem really popular.

Image

Image

Image

I seem to be developing a worrying interest in Gordon Keeble (s).

Image

Following Roy leaving the circuit.

Image

Appropriately, to round off a great day we reached a significant milestone.

Image

Since restoration that is. Nice to meet you all fellow 356 DDK ers.

Super day, and as said so nice to put faces to names. I have to say my photos have not come out so good as all yours. Really nice shots indeed. I have few I will put on on other 356 cars I saw in the paddocks. I would say over 15 cars in total a really good turn out.

The speedster witht the Rudge knock offs was nice but so were the colours of others. Its over 40 years since I have seen a 57 Porsche orange as then it looked stunning today.

And the weather so good. Hope all you guys had a good trip home with your cars.

Never had a chance to speak to Aircool Nick? That 'A' has real potential. I presume the dash is still the original white the body sprayed red over the white then back with white again???

Didn't see Vetrosteve or did I and didn't realise it??? His plans worked well taking into account where we all arrived from and with so many people there.

Cheers

Funny jonno, I too came home and looked up Gordon Keeble !

60's GT car with a small block V8 - lovely but they only made 100 and they were made in Southampton so not something I would ever own
