Darren,
Due to the scarcity and unreliability of original pumps,I will be fitting this set up- http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/ ... fuel-pump/ - http://aeromotiveinc.com/products-page/ ... regulator/
These will be hidden from sight, and two original pumps fitted but not plumbed in,as per photo.

Great work, looking forward to seeing the car progress. Keep the updates coming!

You could weld some tabs onto the a-arms and fit 993 air deflectors to get some more air into the centre of the brakes. Easy to do, looks factory from underneath, but no-one sees them normally. I have them on mine - not sure they make that much difference, but like Tesco: "Every little helps" - Getting cool air in there has to be some use though, doesn't it?

It looks fabulous and we all appreciate the pictures.

A very sound idea although have another idea for that!

....as you well know 'less is more'......although think I only had one anyway which answers the dilemma!

Slowly, slowy, catchy, monkey!…..

A few weeks ago the car looked like this….

Image

…guide coat sanded back and high build primer applied it now looks like this…..awesome transformation! ….

Image

…considering it had a new roof and the rear quarters were unpicked before being refitted the gutter detail is sublime 8) …..

Image

Image

…..in fact there is a huge difference in how the car looks and we're just about ready for colour….first though we're attempting to use the fibreglass rear bumper that came with my E, transforming it into a narrow body, short horn bumper with room for twin tailpipes….

Image

….first job…get rid of those flares! ….

Car looks awesome Darren (and I love that rear bumper colour) but I'm afraid I can't let this one go
Darren65 wrote:Slowly, slowy, catchy, monkey!…..
It's softly softly catchee monkey (i.e. Proceeding cautiously will allow you to catch the monkey, not that It's a cool catchy monkey that's going slow)

Ah, I feel better now
The simple things you see are all complicated
I look pretty young but I'm just backdated yeah

I wasn't familiar with that spelling so I Google'd it.
And discovered: "The phrase was later adopted as the motto of the Lancashire Constabulary’s Training School. It was advice to aspiring police officers that a bull-headed approach wasn’t the best way to nab criminals. This inspired the title of the British television police series, Softly Softly, from 1966 onwards".
'Didn't know that. Fascinating.
I say forget Darren's car and give Sladey a section on this forum.
The man is full of useless information....

'slowly, softly'???.....debateable....

.....I read that it originated from Colonial days when soldiers were taught by locals how to catch a monkey for a pet by using a piece of fruit in a jar....you had to be slow and patient!......

...whatever the correct wording/source of the proverb, what it does mean is that this build is taking a bloody long time!....

.....but hopefully done right! :)
