Dash speaker perforations

Post by leewiffen »

I'm retrimming the top dash pad on my 68 912. I need to create a template to perforate the leather / vinyl. Anyone have something already made up, done it before or recommend a trimmer who may do the job?

Hi Lee
I used the perforated dash card under the trim and a hole punch from memory, seemed to work ok if some of the other trim leaves a bit to be desired.

Yep same here, I laid the old grille upside down and punched new holes in the new piece of vinyl using the grille holes as a positional guide.

Lee, there's a great article on it here... http://www.darrylsgarage.com/912/912int.htm and a great template you can download as well.

This is how I did mine.
