Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Took the 356A out for its constitutional this morning the weather here was super, blue skys and mild. I don't drive far but down some local roads and a very nice private estate that has speed bumps useful for making the suspension work. With the Motorola valve radio on ' Gold' and some nice 60's music coming out of tbe speakers it made my day.
When I had motorbikes I loved the smell of aircooled engines. I must say I do usually have a whiff out of the single grill on the engine lid. It reminds me of when I was a spotty youth in a leather jacket.
It smelt the same as my Norton today

I went to the tip. Twice. In my wife's Cayenne.
At least there was a good reason for the trip.

I fitted my new leather momo 07. I also gave the car a wash to get the winter salt off.
I'm going for a run out tomorrow to the open day here: http://www.classiccarprojectshop.com and then the tack day at Oulton this Friday. Anyone else going to either?

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Thomas, thank you......I think we all needed this thread
I removed my broken steering lock and fitted a new one all by myself .......yes really! (was actually last night but near enough!), now the car starts with a key rather than an adapted washer!......
....up early to wash off the muck and salt I picked up from my Welsh trip last week...
....and, gave my daughter's boyfriend a lift home in the coolest car he's ever been in!.....
.....now looking forward to meeting up with some DDK friends for a blast at the end of the week .....
....looks like the weather will be kind!
Happy Days

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Good idea Thomas
I had a great early morning blast to see Neil Bainbridge who kindly offers to sort a few niggles if I left my car with him.
The four hour train journey back wasn't so good !
I offset this by taking the 356 for a run to the chip shop.
Brick lane tomorrow.
Cheers
Steve

Re: What did you do in/on/for your Porsche today?
Such a glorious day .... I decided to get my tools out and tackle a couple of tricky technical jobs I had been putting off for a while. After much spannering, several cups of tea and a little bit of a struggle, I managed to fit these mats.
They looked ok but I thought I better take the car for a long drive to make sure everything was working as expected. 2 hours later, I thought not bad. A little fine tuning first thing in the morning and then planning to do a final road test followed by a fry up.
Another job well done me thinks

The force is strong in this one ......

Nice thread ...
After an extended stay in hospital having some unpleasant treatment, with the help of a good friend I awoke my 356 from its winter slumbers, changed oil + filters and took a short drive and trying to convince myself that maybe this is the year and time to sell.......
Happy sad !!!!
