ha - yes and it has caught me by surprise to be honest Mike. There's plenty to be getting on with now. I'm just about to meet with the painters about a bit of snagging that I've noticed, so hopefully it'll be back with me quite soon for the final put back together.

so, the car is now back in the garage... my garage, rather than someone else's.
I had grand plans of working on it late into the night, man against beast, with only a haynes manual to fend off the utter amateurness (sp?) of one man and a spanner. Sadly, but not totally unexpectedly, I've been faced with a sort-of-summer - which means car cleaning, tennis pick up, swimming drop off, grass cutting, outside of the house painting, interior decoration and of course work. -
So, very little progress, a lot of reading and frankly eye watering money spendage
here's a few pictures of where I'm at:
the all-tricky window frames... fit quite nicely, although not yet secured:
and of course the all important windscreen water jets in place:

I suppose these things go in fits and starts, sometimes there's great progress, othertimes things drag unendingly on.
Thinking about it I've just described what I do for a living. There are times when it seems it's just never going to end, all the planning goes awry and it can all become a bit of a slog.
My reasoning at times like this is, just do a bit... doesn't matter what bit it is, all the bits will need doing sooner or later, so I do a bit, any bit.... and then I do another bit.
Then before you know it all the bits add up and you're in business again.

its been a while since I've updated this thread with any info. There's a pretty good reason for this... there's not been much to report.
That said, some of you may recall me asking the question around costs and recommendations for interiors. - my car had what I believed to be a pretty original interior, but pretty tired at the same time and in places, patched in an average manner. So a new interior was the way forward.
after a while and a couple of good cups of tea, Garry ( visualfx ) agreed to help. - we bounced a few ideas back and forth and finally settled on what I wanted : ) - the equivellent of an old timberland boot ( that I bought for reference ) for the seats ( distressed look - like an old sofa in a pub ) a lovely sparkly new head lining and all new door cards etc.
here's the car being dropped off at the workshop...
and another one to show the back:
You'll notice that the windows aren't in, door handles aren't on and a few other essential parts are missing. Garry has those 'minor details' on his list but thats part of the next instalment.

obviously the next step was to strip out the remaining interior that I had, carpets and other bits. As is always the case, once the carpets come up ( potentially these were the original ones ) there's always the worry that something'll be found lurking underneath.
