Attaching images to messages

You may have noticed that since the server move you can now attach images (or files) from your computer to a message

I'd still prefer it if you hosted your pics elsewhere and pasted the [IMG] as when you attach an image it's being stored on our server and the database will grow in size, take longer for me to back up etc.

However, I thought I'd trial it and see how it goes so please use sparingly!

Your message will take longer to post because you're physically uploading the image to our server.

So for example I used the 'Choose File' in the 'Upload Attacment' section and voila!

I opened up the attachment facility on the board as a back up for those who wanted it as an alternative to hosting pics.

It's been used rather a lot so the memory allocation is now full. I've upped it so you can use the facility but please only use when really necessary as I have to store all the uploaded images on the server.

Uploading images is not possible for me from ipad or mobile device

The option "choose document" is not available

Is there any steting I can modify or it's a limit of the forum?

talking of technical matters, still don't know how to post a video clip so that the first frame
comes up and you click on the image to run the clip, any hints on how to do that?

The ability to attached/upload images has been disabled on the site in a effort to speed it up.

If you want to post an image within a thread you'll need to use the main method. Few details here http://www.ddk-online.com/phpBB2/viewto ... f=1&t=3864

Not sure it will make much difference but worth a try, the current slow running is down to other things though - not the site, the server

The only downside is that threads that have used this method (including this one!) will no longer display the images. A shame but a necessary change back to the way we used to post images to speed things up.

Sorry yes, had to disable the facility as it was being overused, slowing the site down and increasing costs
