A few more details, coming a bit late 8)

Indeed car from South Africa, no paper work from that history available at all...

Bought out of Chelsea Cars in 2006

Had to replace the original Zenith carbs by Solexes due to an issue on the right hand-side one.
The suspension was fully rebuild as the car was behaving very strangely on the motorway and leaning like hell in the corners.
The front valance had some surface rust so I got it resprayed.
Got all the seals replaced too to make sure it was water tight.
Gearbox was completely rebuild as we discovered parts of one of the bearings while changing the gearbox oil.
Decided that I wanted weber carbs, hence bought a set, got it rebuilt and installed.
All work done by Steve Winter at Jaz.

Sourced the correct decals for the car.

A special detail: I discovered a Krugerrand under the carpet behind the passenger seat, confirming this car was indeed coming from SA. I left it there, not sure if it is still present?

It used to have the weights in the bumper at the front, I see that is gone now.

Drove it like I stole it! Used to be the most requested drive for going to parties by all the friend's kids and associated boyfriends and girlfriends! 8)

Great car.

Christophe, you're a star. Thanks for sharing. I managed to get some history from Porsche SA, promised more... I'll search for coin! I had to repair clutch release spigot, other than that, car goes exceptionally well. Like you say, a car that simply loves to be revved. I'm slowing cleaning and touching up to get to a decent standard. Like I said before, not concours, but not far off. I don't want to get it too precious, want to drive and enjoy.

Carbs are great, been set up by Dave Harris in Meriden. Simply love the car. The chap who bought from you, Gavin, lovely guy... real fan of the brand, kept in tip top condition too.

Great to hear from you again. Thanks. I'm going to be at Goodwood Speed and Silverstone Classic if you wanted to see the car again, regards Gary
