There are two contradictory expressions: "God is in the details" (Mies van der Rohe) and "The Devil's in the detail" (unattributed, but occasionally incorrectly attributed to van der Rohe).

So, are you God or the Devil?

As long as the VIN number is correct (there will be some red faces in a few months' time when a couple of RSs come to the market…) and the work that's been done has been done well, I'd be happy to have it in my garage, wrong colour hinges or not. :)

as usual, not many of us have problems with incorrect details .... UNLESS the dealer makes claims in the description that the restoration is 100% , or the details are 100 % etc

Picking a car apart is nothing to do with the car, but more to do with the dealers / descriptions

At least in this case the seats are mentioned

I think the point to make is that if something as basic as a wrong coloured coil and lid hinges is on display,
it just rings alarm bells and makes you wonder about the rest of the stuff that perhaps you can't see

It also shows a dealer with no idea of what the car should look like, maybe they should stick with Ferrari's!
cheers, Mike.

Fair point.

I do like a bit of detail and admire those with a passion to have everything correct......on balance though minor details are easily rectified, poor quality is not.

Give me a job done well first and second every time! :)

They are missing their grommets. That what I would call attention to detail.

Hence I agree with your (and Mikes) comments above. This is not about the car, this is about the seller, sorry, specialist.

The car is special.

Regards
Mike

For reference, I think chassis number 9113601231 engine number 6631204, gearbox number 7831190
delivered to West Germany. Only 16 in this colour.

Four options, two missing.

Great looking RS.

I know you have been struggling to sleep, so fitted my grommets the other day. Hope that helps. Sweet dreams babe. :thumbright:

Someone has photo-shopped out the background, taking the mirror with it.
Nick,

What makes you think the background was "Photoshopped out" ? It wasn't.

For the record, the wing mirrors were still on the shots when I supplied them to the client !

Hi Tim, have to say I thought there was an element of photoshop in the background as well. There are quite a few keen
photographers here who I'm sure would be fascinated to hear how you do a shoot like that, can you talk as through it,
with perhaps some test shoots and light set ups and so on?
cheers, Mike.

Doh, the fact that the side shots show a wing mirror, and on the front and rear shots don't, although you can see the reflection in the top of the door
