racin at the 'Pod
Just thought I'd share with you a top day that I had on Saturday at Big Bang...
I was racin against my good buddy John in his 1776 bug.
we did 6 runs together in all, and it was SOOOO close for all of them. The closest time between us was I think 0.04 seconds!! It was such a lot of fun.
We were running 17s for the first 5 runs, which I was very frustrated about, as I couldn't crack my personal best from 3 years ago of 17.03.
and then on the last run after lunch, after we both already decided that it would be the last one, as we had pushed our cars alot and we were not acheiving what we wanted.. I pulled one out the bag and ran a 16.87!
I was so happy the get in to the 16s, especially as we had decided it was the last one.
I want to thank John for a superb days racing, and for spurring me on to push my time down.
Cheers buddy.

Luke - congrats on getting a personal best. I reckon that proves that the gearlinkage on a 914/4 doesn't need to be obstructive.
KS - I can see the pic if I cut & paste the link into the browser address bar - there seems to be something wrong with the front wheels of that split... shouldn't they be touching the ground

Next time we race Mr Rookie, I'll make KS proud!!
KS, humble appologies for not having the engine running as good as I know it can. Any tips for extracting a bit more out of it gratefully recieved!! Next time the interior comes out, and I won't be carrying a tool kit up the strip!
Rookie, see you at Bug Jam......oh no, thats right, you're legging it to Sweden
ha ha.
can't wait till next time buddy.
congratulations on the 16s by the way, I was the first to see it
