Well, that idea went out the window and the car will be receiving a fair few fun mods….however it still has to be solid, straight and true and obviously 'period correct'…..including the back-dating of the sills….
….love Barry's attention to detail….
…voilà…

And talking of fun stuff, I've been assembling various items as I go along…..
….Bosch battery kill switch, Hella clear glass lenses, perspex rear quarter windows, lightweight handles with SWB locks…

…and best of all, refurbished custom gauges (North Hollywood via Canford Classics) including 180MPH speedo, offset 10K rev counter and modified fuel/oil gauge….

….particularly like the 'low fuel' warning light…

Looking great Darren. That shell has been a bit of a challenge. 19mm off centre;
that's one bent shell. Amazing what Barry does to these cars.
loving that fuel light and the offset tacho. Cool details.

Re: Mongrel Street Racer
These arrived this week…...…..pure Vintage!
…..

…..ST driver and R passenger…….

…don't think I can wait for the Mongrel so will give them a test run in the E when I get a chance.
Michael at Vintage Seats has been a pleasure to deal with and the quality, construction, weight and finish of his seats is just superb……think I need a second set for the E!
Cheers,
