During the problems I've had over the last week or so with the forum I've decided to recruit some specialist help.
Previously I've tended to get by, learn, do stuff myself, call on a favour or two from people etc. as good developers you can trust are not only few and far between but they obviously come with an hourly rate.
However I felt it was time and following a recommendation I now have a phpBB (the software the forum runs on) specialist on hand to help me with any problems, updates and developments
I'm in discussion at the moment to sort out a server move / new email facilities so that I can reinstate the subscription to threads feature, use the mass email and mass pm facilities without creating problems
In the meantime the adverts are back in the header (remember to support those who support DDK!) and hopefully the forum is running smoothly again
Thanks for your patience

Good news. Good on you for devoting so much time to this. Always happy to pay a bit more on the subs.
