Obviously not at £125K……..worth much more than that to me!Bootsy wrote:Darren's selling!!!!!!!!!????????
I was only made aware of the ads this afternoon; to explain…….We've recently launched a new website, part of which is scvclassics.co.uk where I'll market our 2CV van restorations….at the weekend I uploaded our 2CV stock and also thought it would be good fun to include my 2.4E to add a bit of glamour to the site and give the Google bots something to munch on for (other) SEO reasons….Monday I asked the guys in the office to add the 2CV's to our Ebay/Autotrader listings….they thought it would be funny to also add the 911
The phone call I had on the car this afternoon obviously wasn't a sales enquiry….....and you boys are soooo slow, apparently the car has been listed since Monday!
The Ebay/Autotrader ads will be pulled tomorrow, if you're reading this late the ad can still be seen on our site - http://www.swindoncarandvan.co.uk/class ... 24e-manual
And btw; if anyone was seriously interested at £125K?……....the car's available at £150K!
Sorry for the thread hijack.
Cheers,
Darren

I don't unfortunately but you can (edit: 'just') see it in the background of one of the E pictures I think. Red, Rhd, 150k miles, owned for 10(?) years. The car was in one of several garages and I only saw the outside of it briefly. Looked very well cared for. The owner seemed to know a lot more about this car rather than the E but maybe he was thinking I was a potential buyer for it (which I'm not).
The muted price was £24k which seemed strong to me (I know little about them).

It's blue and it's matching numbers and it used to have a blue interior and it's mooted to have belonged to a DDKer once upon a time. Everyone happy now

Mr. Moore? Didn't you have an ex Mexborough one of these in black? How did it drive?

Hi Steve, yep had that one for a while, bought it from Sir Anthony Bamford so it had a good provenance having sat in both their collections.left4dead wrote:Mr. Moore? Didn't you have an ex Mexborough one of these in black? How did it drive?
Nice to own and good to look at, but it didn't float my boat to drive. Don't get me wrong, a deceptively quick and capable car once you get
used to the turbo lag and very civilised in the cabin, although people do complain of the steering wheel position and the high gear lever.
For me it was almost a little to good in terms of what it did, the 51/49 front/rear weight split meant that it felt very neutral in it's handling,
the opposite of a 911 for instance and not something to explore the limits of and have fun in. Having said that they are rare cars in rhd so
worth thinking about perhaps. Similar price to the Silver car at the Silverstone auction the other day, both high milers and needing work.
The red car's got something going on around the front grill panel and bumper area, looks like someones sat on it, and underneath the front
bumper a strange shape.
This was mine:

cheers, Mike.
