We have a couple of passat saloons (or similar VW thingmy) up here, with very well hidden blue LED lights. They are quite cool-looking when they have the lights on though..
Question is..why an Evoque? Surely there are more useful motors for apprehending perpetrators than one of those silly Focus-based cul-de-sac trinkets?

IMHO because speedy-speederson will fly past it thinking that's not the Plod!
Especially in Surrey (where I saw one) it didn't look out of place until the Blue's came on...
My friend has an S-Max with the 2.5 Turbo ST Focus engine. they are quite rare and pretty quick
South Yorkshire have an array of different vehicles, 5 series, S max's, 3 series, Focus St, Audi A4 Avant, and the customary dull Volvo's. They have sets of 'ghost' plates, i.e more than 1 reg no. registered to each car so the 'eagle eyed' motorist can't take note of the reg no. cos it may have a different one on the next time its out on patrol - dead sneaky....
How do I know ?
We service the glass replacements for them and have seen the plates in the cars......

Can't see there being a problem
Sadly, Police Helicopter not fast but very agile...
Radio waves very very fast (not really playing fair but there you go)...
And smile your on GATSO camera...
All the best
Ian F.
this is North Yorkshire .... don't think we have a helicopter & deffo no Gatso's .. there are are hand held guns and the cameras in the cars though .... so I'd need some new fangled cloaking device
( disclaimer : I don't condone speeding or trying to outrun an Evoque )
turns out North Yorkshire's new speed camera vans are quite effective
Dead giveaway in Strathclyde. All the traffic cars, marked or unmarked, have number plates beginning with the same two letters.......
Regards
Mike

If that's true, it's very illegal and utterly disgraceful.
