1974 Carrera Coupe - RHD, UK car

Quite right, no more of the F word here! This is the car I was chasing, in the end we were 10K apart but it was beautiful.

This is how I believe the 1974 7 & 8 x15 wheel option came with the black painted centres but plain anodised centre caps. For 1975 model year the caps were changed to black anodised. Think I prefer the wheels that have been refinished with petals.

So, Nick collected the car and set about stripping it back to a bare shell.
The car was going to be going to SPL for chemical dipping.

With the car stripped I just needed to deliver it up to the West Midlands.

And the best guy for moving Porsche's around the country is Melv (Melvin Spear).
Melv is known to many DDK'ers, you won't find a better transport for your car.
He owns a 964RS cup car, tracks it extensively and he's a regular curry night companion.

Spoken by a man who has obviously never lifted a bare shell! If I ever bend my knees that'll be the last time.

Melv kindly took a shot of the shell arriving at SPL.
The weather was miserable but we weren't too worried about it getting rusty...

Rather easier to get off the trailer with a forklift.

Mel of course, being the commensurate professional that he is, has the correct work boots on for lifting a shell while standing on a crate....flip flops/Crocs!!

He's getting into swimming pool mode already...

I just want to see how much air I suck in when I see that first pic lol!!

They always scare the crap out of me - I'm not a bodywork guy (nor a mechanical guy lol) but I look at them and think "How the hell....."

So they left it in too long and it dissolved and now you are on the lookout for a replacement shell
