Ferry Man (and everyone), yes it is the car restored by Export 56. The paint code is 6809/Tangerine. I'm not an expert, but I think it is that colour and not signal orange. The Dino isn't mine - belongs to the guy that I bought the car from - my other car being a considerably cheaper and slower (but still beautiful) 1961 MGA Mk2.

Ian - the chassis number is correct 119200582. I had a bit of a debate about this with Porsche who initially told me that it was wrong when I asked for a cert, but I now have the cert. Originally RHD, sold by Porsche of America.

Oh cool as I couldn't match it to a UK chassis other than 119200532 which has the same spec. A RHD USA car is very unusual and the export 56 blurb notes it as a Porsche GB show car so do you know anything about the cars early history?

Ian. I don't know anything prior to 2001. Export 56 appear to have restored the car in 2003 and there's what appears to be a complete file from 2001 to 2005, but then it gets a bit neglected. Simon J Robinson sold the car in 2001 to the person that had it restored by Export 56. According to Export 56's more detailed sales blub, the car was manufactured in 1969 and registered in the UK in 1970. I'm guessing that the car was ordered in America, at Porsche America but originally for the UK. I could enquire with Simon Robinson (or Export 56) whether they know more.

At some point since then serviced by people with no idea and the MFI was seriously out of wack when I bought it (10 mpg, running so rich that fuel coming out of the back). I presume that's why the guy who sold it to me wanted rid of it. I suspect this was down to mfi needed re-setting up, and it may have gone out of wack because the hoses that move hot air around were not properly attached etc. So whilst I suspect that it's not perfect now, it's starting properly, running well, doing 20 - 25 mpg. I'm happy.

Hi, I remember that car and have pictures on file. Whilst with Canford Classics on the 8/2011 we fitted a new master cylinder and flexi hoses, 1 door seal and new screen seal and from memory the accel linkage and pedal assembly were seized. We also did spent an hour or two looking over it.
