OK all this is it,
the unveiling is.....Saturday April 6th!
It would give me
the greatest pleasure to invite you all to the grand unveiling, launch, opening, start up party,
call it what you like and test run of the Martini Prototype RSR project that you've all been so loyally following for all these past 5 years. It would
great to see as many DDk'ers, friends and family as we can get together to join us for a bit of an event, and just to make it worth your while, rest
assured there will be plenty else to see as we're turning it into a bit of an open day at Neil Bainbridge's workshop in Westcott, Buckinghamshire
HP18 0XB.
So there will be something exciting running on the engine dyno, there will be great car's on the lifts and being restored to examine, engines in
pieces in the engine room, dizzy's on the tester and more importantly hopefully you'll bring some great car's too. Neil will be only too pleased to
look and chat about them. There's even talk of a bit of food as we're thinking around midday, lunchtimeish, to be confirmed.
I do have to say though that we are in a time of austerity, and along with the Formula 1 teams and major car manufacturers I do realise that over
the top car launches are a thing of the past... well, austere is not a word associated with this project and as it is a thing of the past we're going all
out, so expect lot's of flashing lights, loud music and dry ice, there's even been mention of pyrotechnics, but that could just be when we start
the car up!
Please do come and share in the fun of the day, do put your name down to say if you can make it so we can gauge numbers, and any ideas for
getting the word out to other Porsche people would be gratefully received, if anyone knows people on the Porsche mags for instance I was thinking
of alerting them, Uncle Keith already knows though. I'll put something on PCGB web-site, but as the car is pre 2010 I doubt there will be much
interest there.....
Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions for the day, in the meantime hope it's enough notice and again be great to see everyone!
cheers, Mike.
