'forensic' valuation inspection.

Had he seen a 911 in the flesh before this one?

it really is quite scary...

The cockney guy is unreal - I can only imagine it's all for show - if it was, not sure why anyone would want to work there!

I particularly liked the reference to the front bumper as a pattern part.

Hi all
the achive footage was good the graphics were good, the rest was fairly awful, the bit about how complicated 911 wiring is was good the fact that a 911 rotor arm can run up to eight thousand RPM was better. I don't think programs like this do anyone favours and did any one notice the old ragged repairs to the sill bottoms, and what was going on with the headlining because buying a decent ready made one is soooo expensive..

I reckon this will end up a 'cult programme'
Very entertaining and almost as silly as last weeks e - type ' restoration '
In it's favour, there was some decent archival footage, and on a serious note
a precautionary reminder of the possible dangers of buying a 'cut and shut' car ( even by expert dealers  )
The 'forensic' examination went something like
Is that the original bumper it came with ?
Yeah that's the bumper that it came with when I bought it.
Did it come with that whale tail ?
Nah, we bought it.
Start her up please. Not the cleanist engine bay Iv'e seen and the window frame needs touching up mate.
Thats the end of the forensic examination - I'll be sending you my bill :drunken:
Anyway my American mate , shall we ruin a Bentley next ?
Well I was thinking of an Alfa Romeo.
Nah, that's not really a classic car is it
Brilliant series

Well we've all learnt that if you want to sort the headlights/indicators on a 77 911 you fiddle with the blower cables...

... and wasn't that Autofarm on the tee shirt of the first seller?

Watched 10 minutes of it and then bailed out. Went to the cinema instead and watched the new Sweeney film. Much better (and more believable...).

It was their workshop and the blood orange car they went out in to see what an early 911 was like was Josh Sadler's he raced in HSCC that is now up for sale.

So so so bad. A random selection to make me cringe

The screwdriver diagnosis of the engine.
Distributor turns up to 8K - nope it runs at half the speed of the engine.
A 1977 911 but with a 3.2 engine.
A 1977 911 with a whale tail.
The filler on the roof and front wing.
Hand painted orange calipers.
Glued on foam backed headlining.
The "expert's" forensic valuation.

The car is an absolute shed IMO.

The yanks do these programs well; American Chopper, Pawn Stars, Sons Of Guns, Dog The Bounty Hunter. The brits do not.
