Don't think the sheffield showing is going to come off as we are reliant on getting a copy of the film and I think Magnus is busy promating in London at the moment. Its going live on the web on the 15th of October but I'd have paid to have seen it on the big screen with something like the Le mans film tagged on with Steve Mcqueen. (Never seen it TBH)
Sorry guys. :(
I did try.

It could be arranged at the showroom after its been released if everyones still interested.
The showroom recommended a breakfast showing one weekend so it doesn't affect their programme of events.
Could even tie it up with a Full english breakfast to start with???
Be great meet up for us Northerners!

Showroom is the cinema in sheffield that shows re-runs of films or less know films.
Its a nice little cinema, ok its not as modern as the new multiplex's.
Details here
http://www.showroomworkstation.org.uk/showroom/

It'll be ideal for Urban Outlaw.

You can even book a screen for you and your mates to show your favorite film, lets say if its your birthday or special occasion etc...

Neil,
Let me know if there's seats spare as I wanted to come down but all I got from Apollo cinemas is that showing is sold out, I'll be well miffed off if theres seats spare.
Apollo have been pretty useless all along as I've been trying to book tickets for last few weeks.
Cheers

Alright I will head down there for about 6:30pm. You can't miss me. I will be the one in black lycra with a bike helmet!

Sorry I will not be able to contact you about free tickets since I left my mobile at home!!

Well I have to say I do hope the film is a good 'un.

Pretty disappointing evening in truth for most DDKers...
A whole bunch of us rolled up and either we had been mis sold tickets to the wrong film, or the tickets that were meant to be on the door were not there.

As I left I couldn't help but notice that Liam Howlett had managed to get in!

A Big Vote then for a special DDK screening of this please ;-)

Sorry to hear that, James. I hope Neil didn't equally disappoint in his all-in-one black Lycra number?

Didn't spy Neil, but maybe he'd already legged it to use his outfit to help smooth his entry into one of the local soho joints!

Thorsten: interesting headlight story, thanks for flashing that one up ;-)

James you failed to mention you didn't have a pass from SHMBO?
I'm pretty sure all who came and were allowed to stay got in. 8)
Loved the film and even managed a pint with the big man Magnus afterwards.
Thoroughly enjoyable evening. I learnt something about the Ganges too. :cyclopsani:
Magnus great to meet the family, and John great to finally meet too!

Well this wasn't actually correct!

A trip to the West End for a film festival followed by a meal in China Town appealed to both wife and daughters - getting to the cinema after a two hour trip to be told we'd been given duff information didn't!

After a little friendly persuasion we managed to blag our way in although ended up sitting on the stairs with my daughters - Urban Outlaw was the last of 3 short 30 minute films, the first two were interesting although each seemed to last two hours and were about 29 minutes too long!

Urban Outlaw was excellent though and certainly touched a nerve; my daughters constant whispers of 'kill me now' subsided and even they really enjoyed the film :) - There's far more to Magnus Walker than a bunch of old Porsches and he comes across as a pretty shrewd cookie

All in all a good nights entertainment - great to meet both Derek and Thorsten and Neil briefly (nice shorts  ) and catching up with others - shame I had to disappear so swiftly at the end.

A DDK showing of the film is a must!

A great job Magnus and I totally agree with your philosophy - one Porsche is never enough!

Cheers,

Well that was a great turnaround!
As you know, I high tailed it once the press officer came down saying "There's just no way..."
Glad some of you finally made it in . 8)

The question stands: Can we get a DDK screening for the faithful !?

I was there. First in the cinema so I got the best seat. A couple of tourists from LA sat next to me - Magnus and Karen. Really nice people but Magnus seems a bit head over heals with 911s but can't pursuade Karen away from her BMW :) Magnus was kind enough to give me a king ring! Great movie. Sorry I had to run/cycle so couldn't stay away to make everybody look sensible! I had to go home and then pick my son up. I didn't get to bed until 1am!

Actually I was a bit humbled because we had come to watch a film about how we generally look to indulgence our passion for cars but the first movie - Free Improvisation was something a little special. About Jean Claude and Ariel. A musican suffering from MS trying to make the best of it and his relationship with a prodigy. Heatfelt, funny, moving and beautifully shot. It had it all. I spoke to the director afterwards and unfortunately JC can no longer play :(
