Re: Amazing barn find and a journey of discovery
Thank you Jarvo for being a pleasure to deal with. We look forward to meeting you in the near future.
It would be great if you could pick up the baton and continue the story of restoration on this thread. I am sure there will be continued worldwide interest.
Oh, and welcome to DDK. Lots of help and advice available on here for you I am sure.
Regards
Mike

Welcome Jarvo....
Let me guess...... will Lee be doing the bodywork?
Hope it turns out as well as the discoverers hoped it would
If I've guessed wrong then apologies

Jarvo - welcome aboard - I think the answer to your question is yes - we'd love to know what happens to this car. And there'll no doubt be a bunch of help and expert eyes if you need or want them.
And demands that you hot rod it too - nice one Bootsy...

Re: Amazing barn find and a journey of discovery
Gidday folks,
Well Eve certainly looks set to grace this forum for a while longer then!
Apologies for the delay in responding, I'm in LA at the moment with a parts shopping list for the other projects.
To answer your questions in brief:
There are three of us involved in a somewhat loose restoration partnership which has been ticking along for some years. One of them is a 'specialist' and yes his first initial is L. (I was sworn to secrecy but looks like there are detectives amongst you). Myself and (we'll call him M) are wandering vagrants from NZ. Between us there are a half dozen or so projects on the go.
Eve was bought on the spur of the moment over a pint of beer on an I-phone bid.
That's not to say her purchase was ill-considered. We'd followed the forum for ages. But it does mean that there hasn't been much time to seriously think through the options.
Restoration will be carried out in the UK. Once that's done, she may be shipped to NZ, but that's years away from a decision being made.
Most likely, the vehicle will be restored as closely as possible to the state she left the factory as a factory RHD conversion.
We have other cars that would be better suited to 'hot-rod', and one of these days I'm going to have to go and meet this Magnus fella who ironically is located only a few miles away from where I always stay.
It is going to be a while before we have any photos of Eve to share with you. I'm tempted to start another thread to show you the standard of work to be expected. We've got E no.40 in final assembly. Any interest?
Jarvo.

Oh well, ok then. We've been operating below the radar for so long that this is an alien concept..
Give me a few days to return to NZ and dig out a few photos.
Jarvo.

I always loved the cryptic element to this thread and just as I thought it all over a whole new level of cryptic-ness emerges...bjmullan wrote:I look forward to meeting you, M and I over a beer in the near future. Will Moneypenny be coming as well?

Eve would like to thank everyone for their support and has made a donation to the £10K for 10 years. After all she was responsible for causing Bootsy lots of headaches and it the least she could do.
