I keep having thoughts of my dremmel and the polishing compound it came with.

Probably the answer is: Nooooooooooooooo! But, thought I'd check..
I think these guy will mean that you polish the scratches out by hand. Just in case you're tempted to help it along with the dremel - don't! - it polishes too small a bit at a time and you end up making more marks.

In the past I have polished mine with one of those big polishing cylinders in a drill - it covers the whole of the watchface in one go. This was after I'd watched a watchmaker use something similar in London. It produced a good finish. I daresay you're meant to use this fancy paste stuff as well and not steel polishing soap. That might be why I've had to replace my glass after it got so thin........

Yes, what he says, something like a Dremel spins too fast, you can burn/melt the acrylic if you are not careful.

Ooh, right-o. I was looking forward to that, too, never mind. I'll get the brasso out (slightly unpleasant memory of a Derek and Clive sketch there..)

Thanks all for the help. And to think that my lovely omega, as well as having a generic movement, also has a plastic face. Pf!

Another one owner that has sat in a drawer for 20 years. Managed to stabilise the dial so this is how it should stay...took a bit of work this one, wasn't pretty when it came in, looked like it had been sat in a barn

Whilst we are on the topic of red divers.....

Rare Tag Heuer 1000 Diver 980.913N Red dial and bezel

I don't use the term rare liberally here as these were only ever made for 1 year (1993) and are very hard to source.

Excellent condition, original signed Tag movement, correct case caseback, signed crown. Stunning original dial that just shines and original red bezel.

Comes on a colour matched NATO and a the red rally strap pictured.

£600 (discount for a DDK member!) including Uk delivery (deal, trades, swaps welcome)

Correct Case back - in perfect condition, has a sticker back in it so hence the strange reflection on the pic

Chronomatic Monaco - built in 69. These are the first of the Monacos and highly sort after. The paint degradation is quite common due to the process used on the dial. Some just degrade badly others are ok.
Where's that one from James?
Still highly sought after with degradation or not.
