Also, if you are seriously considering an RS at some point I have a Factory document that matches the VIN and production number of all the '73 Carreras and would be glad to help confirm a car.

Now that is interesting!

Hey Mike,

Yeah it is a pretty cool document. I believe it is a copy of an original document that Jurgen Barth had that he used as an early RS registry. There are owner's names hand written in the margin next to certain cars. For instance the third owner of my car is written in next to the VIN. He bought it in 1980.

Cool document which can be useful for helping with confirmation of an original car.:)

Thanks for the kind offer, although as you say it might be a bit difficult to organise.

That would be a double whammy as I've flown into O'Hare three times (to visit a good US friend that lives in Beloit) but never actually made it into Chicago.
You are welcome, would be glad to help. Yeah Beloit is about the same distance away from O'Hare as I am, but it is the opposite direction just into Indiana.

Yep I do think the standard lid in the rear is more '911' like, thus better looking than the ducktail. As a matter of fact I have a spare AL rear lid that I hope to have painted tangerine sometime so I can change up the look of my car.:)

Quick update.

Specialist that was brokering the deal for the light ivory 2.7 RS has been deferring my appointment to see the car as he has been busy. Now transpires that the person he was selling it for has decided that he thinks he can get more money for it (person I was speaking to was advising him CHF 350'000 but seller now wants CHF 370'000). Has now advertised the car with another dealer.

I was thinking CHF 350'000 was already too much and would have been looking for a reduction so CHF 370'000 is more than I would be prepared to pay.

Had it been in orange like this car I still would have been tempted:

I will still go and see the ivory car if I can for research purposes.

Making me think more and more that a good 2.2S or 2.4S would be better alternative.

Although current problem is that I have two 993s to sell before I can buy something else and no-one seems to want them, despite both being in good condition (one is excellent). I'm sure in the UK they would be snapped up but here in Switzerland there doesn't appear to be much of a market for them at the moment.

Hi Spencer,

Is this the IT RS you are describing? If so, is this the new dealer it is listed with?
