The "I'm not at Classic Le Mans" Thread -what are you up to?

Post by abm914 »

Another year on, another Classic Le Mans not visited. Whilst those with working cars are on their little jolly (jealous? Moi? Too right) what is everyone else up to this weekend?
As the forecast is rain (for the rest of our lives), my weekend will probably involve keeping the kids entertained in doors whilst trying to find time to complete a load of mid-year appraisals for work (oh the life I lead).
Anyone else doing anything less exciting and care to share it with me (in order to provide a slight glimmer of hope that I'm not completely sad).......

listening to an 8-track at my desk and confusing everyone with my pre-steam power audio technology
good blast home at 4pm in the track car (poor choice given the way the weather has gone since last night, but better than the bike)
tonight, out for a curry and a couple of beers with the mrs in the village

amie is at work this weekend, so doing some work on the 5-series...

finish rebuilding my wheels
fit new tyres
replace rear brake pads
install wheels
replace the rear subframe bushes and dampers

..then i can move onto the interior..

hoover the insides of the car out
put the door cards and dash trim back in
install my new amplifier :bounce:
install the DSP thingie and set it up
replace the damaged lumber bladder in the drivers seat
re-fit front seats

then maybe sunday if the rain stops i'll give it a wash :?

monday, if all goes to plan, i'll be back in the 5-series

Ah, the bathroom refurb... a seemingly endless nightmare of claustrophobious huffing and puffing, necessitating the most multitudinous skill set of any room refurb in the house.

You would have my sympathy if it wasn't for the fact that I have been working on this one kitchen for seven months now.

How can it be possible that one kitchen can steal so much of my life.

Not so sure I'll be a Elvington this weekend.

Not so sure any one will. :)

Regards, Mike.

I like this counter thread idea...

Saturday
I will look at the CLM pictures
go to spin class
fit the fire extinguisher in my car
re-line the flower troughs outside
ride my bike
drink wine
Sunday
ride my bike
watch a wet silverstone
put a new earth stake in
look at CLM pictures

wish I was there ...next time deffo'

Mike, IF the weather takes a turn for the better (if won't!) then you may well be all alone at Elvington anyway. York Raceway is at Melbourne (YO42 4SS), 6 miles from Elvington.
Your description of a bathroom refurb is so close to the truth it hurts!
I can see substantial completion in the bathroom in the next couple of days..... That's the good news. The bad news is that the second bathroom could start soon
