Classic LeMans 2012 - camping plots still avaialbe
In case there is anyone reading the forum & they can't see the members area ...
So far we have :
64 cars / 107 people on the DDK camping area of Karting Nord
There are still a few spaces left on KN for anyone who has not yet booked. All details in the members section
All in , including the DDK'ers who are not camping or are camping on one of the other sites , I reckon that's a pretty impressive number of UK classic Porsches heading to France

Is there a beginners guide to camping at Le Mans? I'm guessing about what to take. It's been quite a while since I went camping. Do people cook their own food or is there a supermarket or places to eat? I'm guessing the weather is like the UK. Unpredictable?

Dress code is quite informal....neilbardsley wrote:Is there a beginners guide to camping at Le Mans?
No 'Jacket & Tie', rather more 'Brits Abroad'.

... if their clients could could see them
Neil, the camping @ LeMans is pretty basic ... as in , the campsite is a field next to the track, it is marked out into pitches & roadways. On Karting Nord there are no permanent facilities, so the LeMans organisers provide some mobile toilet & shower units , which to be fair arn't that bad really, you just need to pick your time to use them to avoid the ques.
The DDK camping ... all we do is block book a section of Karting Nord which enables us all to camp together en-mass ... this works really well & creates a superb atmosphere , especially in the evening & into the night
Regarding food, personally I think I managed to go the whole of the last 2 CLM's without cooking a thing ... can't actually remember what I ate, but I mostly eat out in the local bars / pizzerias , & grab breakfast at the supermarket cafes . Most others are bit better at organising themselves & do fair bit of barb-q ing

It's amazing what you can get in a 911 ...
Tent, sleeping bag, cooker, table, chairs, gazebo, cooler box, pots and pans ...

They would like to encourage period dress(drag) like Goodwood, the reality of the dress code is not topless/vests.

WHO WANTS INFIELD PARKING/TRACK LAP?
I'm just about to purchase my admission etc. via Porsche Club France [I'm a member!] and have realised I can get infield parking for a classic Porche [in the PCF enclosure] and a track lap for anyone that wants [did this last time, great!]
I'm not bringing my 911 as being an old fart with a ton of LF photo kit [see other posts] I am bringing my VW camper up from southern France [only one driver]
Happy to book these for another DDKer though [ might like to sit in on track lap] at cost,
As pleaded before, will need lifts to Arnage/Mulsanne corners and into Arnage village for moules/frites ..................

Infield parking EUR 20 + Saturday 1100 tracklap EUR 160, you have to have the infield to use the tracklap as they stage you from the PCF enclosure.
Of course you can have the infield without the track lap ......
PCF will want full details of car + a pic, all the passes will come to me first, I can either post on or will at Karting du Nord from Tursday PM.
