Christmas came a day early

Post by shambly »

Wahooo!! :occasion1:

My new engine arrived this morning, a day early for christmas.

:wav: :wav:

Ordered this back in July, so it's great to finally receive it.
All I need to do now is finish all the preparations for fitting it (kafer brace, new gearbox mounts, new fuel pump/lines, oil breather, ...)

Merry Xmas all

Shambly,
Looks sensational - keep the pictures coming looking forward to seeing the fitting of the kafer brace and the lump.

All the best James

That looks superb.
Farther christmas is still to bring my restoration panels and couldn't bring any engine bits (sigh) .
Keep us well posted and through you i shall be able to enjoy the benefits of a new engine.
I'm not jealous at all.......

What are the specs?
Is it a Raby engine?
The DTM looks really good, although I'm confused by your blockboard/chipboard engine bay sound deadening...

Martin,

Not sure what varnish to finish my wood engine bay cladding with for protection

Yes, Its a Raby engine. A 2270cc Type 4, in his 'C' configuration, with 44IDFs, mallory unilite with hyfire 6, and a BAS exhaust system.

78.4 x 96. Ceramic Lifters. HAM heads.

Wanted to stay with the red theme of my existing engine, hence the red carbon fibre shroud and sealing tins.

Busy getting the car ready for it (Kafer brace, HD mounts, rear CSP discs, breather, electric fuel pump, ..)
