There is some lovely metal work in your car

How are your going about rust protection priot to paint? I couldn't bring myself to use conventional methods on a shell with that much investment in it. It would have to be dipped to get at least the majority of the internals. I appreciate you can't cover all of it due to air entrapment, but it's a good start.

Been a while since I caught up with the resto thread on this. Just had a look at the latest pictures, all looks very impressive, a fantastic standard of work.

It’s been a while since the last update but things are progressing steadily. The completed body has received a couple of coats of primer via Canford Classic’s paint shop, with the next process being colour matching the “special order green” from a sample from the car's body before works commenced. A spray out of one of the rear bumpers was agreed once the colour is mixed to get as near as match as possible.

Pistons & cylinders are now ready to go onto the completed case……

The shell looks wonderful Garry as does the engine, who's doing the engine rebuild?

It's not even recognisable from that rusty shell. Fantastic work you must be very excited. Are you building the car up yourself or is Alan doing it.

Once the car is painted Alan will be returning it to a rolling shell, i.e. suspension, wheels, loom etc.

Nick at Redtek has completed must of the work to the engine, so I’m really looking forward to getting all the components back to my garage for final assembly.

In the mean time I’ve just finished the a engine rebuild on my 912 for good measure

After some serious preparation and numerous spray outs trying to match the original “special order green” supplied by Porsche to the first owner, I’m happy with the final decision colour match.

Canford Classics created just what the second owner said when I first spoke to him regarding the original colour. His comments on the colour were “some day’s it looks blue, and other days it looks green”

90mm pistons in a short stroke 66mm makes some nice HP
