Wow, that takes me back a bit. Lester Noble used to make bikes for me back in about 1990, and I used his sails for windsurf racing and wave riding

Ditto - loved the boat that guy built series - and although his accent can seem a bit cartoony at times I really like his enthusiasm and passion for alll thing mechanical-related

Cool, I remember drooling over a Tushingham B52 in my local windsurf shop, back in the fluoro-80's...and I still ride a clockwork.
Cheers, Johnny

Spent a summer surfing around Devon in one of Orange's VW transporters borrowed off my mates brother who worked there.

Chris you are a man of taste and distinction..
Mines going that way too..I take it the White industries eccentric hub does the business well enough? What are the other bits? (so I can do the same!)
Campag front brake is a nice touch.. 8) 8)

Lovely looking bike Chris :)

I don't know why I'm drawn to single speed as I use most of my gears every time I get on my bike (except the granny ring!) and get annoyed when I can't find a gear that exactly matches the effort v speed I want at that particular moment!

It's nice to see the Orange frames being made by hand in the UK, but I can't help thinking every single one will be different! Lining the folds of the main box sections up by eye doesn't strike as the most accurate method :)

Thanks Johnny

The White industries hub is great, no problems with it. I use a freewheel as my knees aren't up to fixed gear riding.

Off the top of my head ..... the spec is:

- '94 Orange clockwork MTB frame 17'', powder coated white with original factory 'Kubrick' stickers...derailleur arm and rear brake bosses removed

- 700c Kestrel carbon fork (free!)

- 700c Velocity deep V rims (they do wood veneer look now 8) )

- Zipp Carbon front hub (free!), radial spoke pattern

- White industries eccentric rear hub, 14tooth freewheel and radial spokes on non-driveside

- Dura ace crank with 39 tooth chainring (free!)

- Shimano sp-250 pedals with MT Christophe clips and straps

- Joe Murray impact headset (won, many years ago!)

- Quill stem 'tube' that allows use of Aheadset stem

- Rolls saddle

- Orange seat post

- Campagnolo mirage front brake

- Reverse pull brake lever

- Continental 25mm Gatorskin tyres

- HandleBars (found in a skip)

- Mushroom grips

Cheers
Chris

Great, thanks Chris, hopefully a summer project coming up. Cant see me being brave enough to cut off the brake bosses, though..mine was going to be white with original stickers too, but I'm going to have to do something different now  . I already have red anodised renthal bars and kona project 2's. Hmmm..

James, thanks for the vid - I couldnt place Guy Martin at first, but now remember a car magazine article about him, a IoM TT bike-racing truck-fitter, who had a flamed/matt black Saab 9-6 and a new Aston Martin. Great 'chops and a northern twang that makes our Russ sound like Janet Street-Porter. Great value...

I've got an on-one - seem to be a similar company - probably smaller though

I've got a tin-bred (titanium in-bred) - titanium frame and no suspension, carbon front forks. Don't ride it enough but it's wonderfully light
