Boxter into 550

Post by TheBaron »

Hi All

Looking at the shape of the boxter, with a little bit of creative work on the front and back it could look like a larger 550 Spyder, has anyone ever done this? if so do you have any pics?

Thanks

We got as far as drawing pictures.

It was the front overhang that was making things hard work. It needs to be long to accommodate something called radiators (?????) and without some serious cutting and shutting of the front wheel well the shape just wasn't working.

At the time the windscreen height was a challenge too, but now that the Boxster Spyder exists I guess you could just buy a screen.

Interesting, seeing as boxter is water cooled as you say that is one of the problems with chopping around, I still think it would look stunning and has the right lines to look really special, would love to see the drawings sometime.

Boxster styling was inspired by the 550, or the concept car shown in the early 90's was inspired by the 550 and that was fed into the boxster. I do like boxsters but the concept was even more exciting.....
