Thanks for the warm words, but I will be getting a feel for it tomorrow.

The hill has run well today (clubby meeting at loton today) so will be good tomorrow.
My class mate is there too, a 700/800 bhp 4 x 4 Rally cross Ford Puma, but a very pleasent guy so a bit of fun.

No heroics, I want a day of going up and back down the hill with no issues!

James at Bob Watson's has a video of the car on the rollers, a before and after clip which i hope to get next week.

I've no idea what the car sounds like.

I've fitted the BIG block of wood under the accellerator pedal...

Quite a day at the races.

Car went just great. I had all the gears when i wanted them (bar once when i tried to hurry a 915 box: how stupid of me), the engine is super strong and when at full belt is quite a shock.

The only problem was a small oil hose leak, fixed there, and the driver..

Not sure how to fix the driver, but many can suggest a way or three I'm sure.

What a great day. This car is now how I expected it to be when i first wheeled it out. I can now get on with learning to trust it. I assure you 530Kg of Lola with 269 bhp up Cedar Straight is a sharp intake indeed.

The photographic evidence of your rivals indicates that your rear inside wheel is too close to the ground !!

Unfortunately I didn't get a shot of your car at the same moment so maybe I'm being unfair

Just after the exit of the bend it sounded as if the engine stuttered slightly on part throttle, but then burst into life as you straightened up, not sure if you felt this from the inside?

In the cockpit, hard to hear much at all tbh.
My 'competition' is a bit hard to follow, but variety is the spice of life.

I was pleased with the first outing, just need to drive the thing better.

Only an 110 alpine could be better ( yes I prefer them to 911's

We are in accord!
110's are great, and last weekend there were 2 on the hill in the Renault class.
One got smashed going home when a Range Rover ran into the back of the trailer!

I have greater class mates this weekend.

The Lola crashed today due to a N'S rear suspennsion failure of the upright. Way in the past some blighter 'welded' the upright and did a poor job in as much as not too strong. He welded it in a bizzar way then all but linished the lot away.

The rear let go just before entering the Prescott Esses in flat 2nd so it broke suddenly and the car hit the bank and then scraped along the ground to a halt. I came out with a sore thumb(!).

Time now to rebuild the two rear corners with NEW parts not 1970's stuff that have seen some action.

The body is badly crumpled, so not too sure just what to do now with the body....New Lola or something more '906'

This car is getting hard work.

Dont think gary meant that much drama

Blimey Graham, its one thing after another, try not to let it get you down as each problem gets sorted youre one step closer to perfection.

Up early today, sunday to find some uprights on the internet!
Thanks for the kind words though, does help.

I've got very used to ups and downs with this car, and this is just another episode, another program in the 'documentary'!

I have a perfect pair of uprights but without the mounting lugs for the calipers. Sets with Lugs are very rare, but i can get new ones made from a Lola specialist. Costly but perfect.
I can sell these to the Historic Boys as these uprights are used on many many cars.

Another way is to fabricate a set from steel. I trust steel!
There are several specialists who will do this as it is not hard just time consuming.

The essential thing is to keep the geometry and the driveshafts/drive splines which are all March F2 and made for the hyper rare Dymag wheels.

Lots of formula cars have steel uprights even today, about £1800 the set(!)
Got to find a way to jury-rig the corner to get the car off the trailer and into the garage. Then the lot can come off. I'll post a pic of the break on the upright. The welding is not pretty, and the method used is perculiar.

Thumb and wrist are full articulating today, no swelling so OK!

The body can be bodged-up to be useable if battle scared.
A new body is a cool £4000, so a Xmas job.

Big decision will be Lola or closed coupe (ie 910 )
